Main Areas of Responsibility:
The accounting associate will fulfill the following main duties:
• Process and record daily financial transactions within the established general ledger, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Foundation’s policies
• Ensure transaction records are properly maintained
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual close process
• Assist with preparation and monitoring of annual operating budget
• Using system generated templates, draft correspondence to donors
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
The right candidate will also be interested in the mission and professional values of the Foundation and nonprofit work as there will be time spent working on non-accounting duties, including assisting with Foundation event set-up and clean-up. Experience in nonprofit sector a plus. Additionally, knowledge or experience in data mining and data analysis is a plus.
