Accounting Associate

Job Description
Type of Job: 
Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Process and record daily financial transactions within the established general ledger
Ensure transaction records are properly maintained
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual close process
Prepare and monitor annual operating budget
Using system generated templates, draft correspondence to donors

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The right candidate will also be interested in the mission and professional values of the Foundation and nonprofit work as there will be time spent working on non-accounting duties. Experience in nonprofit sector a plus.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or related field
1-3 years' relevant work experience (recent graduates can substitute academic coursework for experience)
Proficiency in MS Office products, especially in Microsoft Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize competing time/schedule demands
Attention to detail
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Must have outstanding customer service
