About Us: 

Mission/Giving Statement: Advocates for children’s oral health, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry  promotes evidence-based policies and clinical guidelines; educates and informs policymakers, parents and guardians, and other health care professionals; fosters research; and provides continuing professional education for pediatric dentists and general dentists who treat children. Also, supports: Service, Education, and Research that advances the oral health of infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.

Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children: Provides matching grants of up to $20,000 to community-based organizations providing dental care services to underserved kids. Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children will explore its options for expanding our Access to Care initiatives to include multi-year grants to strengthen our impact on the access and underutilization oral health challenges facing U.S. children.
