About Us: 

Mission/Giving Statement: The mission of the Albert I. Pierce Foundation is to memorialize its benefactor through grants which enrich the cultural life, education, and environment primarily of the citizens of New Mexico. The Foundation's goal is to encourage and nurture skills, talents, and services necessary to ensure that its communities continue to be desirable places to live and work. The Foundation recognizes that increasing educational levels in a community can reduce social problems and their related costs.

Grantmaking Program Areas: Arts; Education; Environment

Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions: The Foundation seeks initiatives that perform the following: Expand awareness and involvement in programs related to the arts and the environment; Encourage public participation in environmental and art projects; and Develop or conserve valuable environmental and cultural resources for public use and posterity. The Foundation supports community initiatives that address critical as well as major cultural and heritage enrichment programs.

Type of Funding/ Funding Restrictions: Matching funds of at least 25% of the grant request are required. The match may be provided in cash or by in-kind contributions and other non-cash support. In addition to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, the Foundation makes grants to federally recognized Indian tribes, governmental agencies, private and public schools, colleges and universities and local and state arts and environmental agencies. Grants for specific projects, operating expenses, and capital expenses are considered. Collaboration among grant seekers is encouraged. No grants are made to individuals or to cover deficits.
