Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
RAMP is a high tech, career focused mentoring program for young people with disabilities who are involved with, or at-risk of entering the juvenile justice system. RAMP uses group, peer and one-on-one mentoring to promote successful transition of mentees to employment, continued learning opportunities and independent living. The mentoring program will work with youth between the ages of 15 and 17 and will provide opportunities for structured mentor-mentee activities and will help youth grow in knowledge of careers and themselves.
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
RAMP has working with more than 1200 young adults in over a dozen communities across the nation. The program has helped students stay in school, improve attendance and social skills, and avoid court involvement.
