Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Our Healthy Foods Center (HFC) volunteers sort, organize, prepare and distribute healthy food selections, particularly produce to people facing both hunger and a chronic health issue. Their referral to the HFC is provided by a partner physician or clinic as a medical intervention. Volunteers with excellent people skills and with a background in nutrition dietetics or nutrition science are a perfect fit for this specialized program. Volunteers helping in the HFC also assist with phone outreach for regular check in's in between visits, conduct community resources assessment about the household and provide resources to additional services.
