Mission Statement:

People Works-NM works to improve the mental health and wellbeing of at-risk people by providing innovative, relevant counseling services, educational programs, consultations and related services which address the cognitive, relational, and emotional needs of all ages and especially older adults.

Primary Programs:

Our Primary Programs are:
Counseling - We provide individual counseling sessions for a multitude of problems including depression, anxiety, problem gambling, stress, bipolar disorder, grief, and PTSD, to name a few. We see ages 16 to 100. We have some limited availability of couples and family sessions. Our sessions are provided by telehealth and in person. During the pandemic, our sessions are being provided only by telehealth - an easy way to connect, by phone, Ipad or computer.
Gambling Addiction Program - depending upon funding, we provide counseling to gamblers and their family members as well as prevention and education services to the community and professionals. Occasionally we may offer a group for gamblers. We are available for public presentations about problem gambling, and distribute written materials and online information via our website. This program is on hold during the pandemic.
Online Groups and Classes - this is a new offering due to the pandemic. We offer classes and support groups via Zoom, with topics covering Grief and Loss, Caregiver Support, Advance Planning for Critical Illness, How to Have Fun During the Pandemic, and others yet to be created.

Other Programs:

Dementia Caregiver Program is currently not funded, but remains a focus and specialty in counseling sessions for caregivers. We hope to offer Dementia Caregiver classes or support groups in the future.
