Mission Statement:

The mission of the African American Museum and Cultural Center of New Mexico is to increase awareness and understanding of the contributions of people of African Descent with emphasis on New Mexico and the Southwest. The museum will be a vehicle for the perpetual definition of our history.

Historical exhibits of New Mexico and the Southwest

Traveling exhibits from other museums and the Smithsonian

workshops and educational programming around African American History and Culture

Artistic exhibits incorporating African American Artist and Musicians.

Outreach to communities around the state to assist the museum in the collection and archiving of African American History in the State of New Mexico
