Mission Statement:

Stigma and taboo are removed when 2SLGBTQIA+ young people (and allies) can share the difficulties they go through freely and safely with their peers. They feel better and are able to believe in themselves and in the future.

Give Us The Floor (GUTF) is a US-based, youth-led non-profit organization providing 2SLGBTQIA+ youth across the US with a supportive community of their peers when they need it most in a safe, online environment. Our inclusive discussion groups and community-wide channels provided through our free mobile app give 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and their allies a safe space to break the isolation and shame cycles they so often experience.

Primary Programs:

Inspiring confidence & resilience through safe & judgment-free peer support for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, our anonymous youth-led community creates a safe online "third space" where youth can learn how to share and listen both to each other and to their own emerging voices and identities. This science-backed peer support program provides youth with a vital space for emotional support and wellbeing, breaking the isolation and aiding in suicide prevention.
Active participants may also apply for our Youth Facilitator program, where they will complete self-guided training online and earn a certificate upon completion. Through this training program, youth are able to acquire communication and leadership skills that they will take into the job force for the rest of their lives. In addition to being a great addition to college and job applications, this volunteer position also comes with the ability to earn up to 5 community service hours per month. Particularly active and positively engaged Youth Facilitators may also be offered the opportunity for promotion to the role of Senior Youth Facilitator after a period of time, and earn a small monthly stipend.
