Abode Inc.
Abode Inc. was formed as a separate borrower corporation as required under Section 202 Direct Loan Program from HUD. Its mission is to provide housing for those for whom it is difficult to obtain and maintain housing.
Abode Inc. operates a 15-unit group home in Las Cruces for people who are chronically homeless. This housing is a Project Based Section 8/202 program operated under the "Housing First" model. There are 11 units for male and 4 units for female tenants in two separate homes located on nearly an acre of land in central Las Cruces. Each house has 3 shared bathrooms, a shared kitchen, dining room, living room, phone, internet, TV, gazebo/barbecue area, and a garden. Case Management and Housing Management is provided through a contract with the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope.
