Mission Statement:

The Vallecitos Mountain Ranch is a wilderness ranch and contemplative center that supports and empowers citizens to be strong and effective change makers and social entrepreneurs in our society.

Primary Programs:

We offer innovative retreats and trainings based on the power of awareness, contemplative practice, and experiencing the solitude of the deep woods and wilderness.

Founded in 1993, the Vallecitos Mountain Ranch has been serving the progressive nonprofit communities as a place of refuge. Located high in the Rocky Mountains of northern New Mexico, Vallecitos is a spectacular 135-acre wildlife refuge and mountain sanctuary and the ideal refuge for solitude, quiet, rest, prayer, meditation, healing, reflection and renewal.

The Center for Mindfulness in Action:

The Center for Mindfulness in Action at Vallecitos Mountain Ranch annually hosts Values in Action: Mindfulness Based Leadership Trainings for Change Makers for career activists and other change makers. These trainings are practical and transformative. They provide urgently needed opportunities for leaders to pause, step out of the maelstrom of modern life, revitalize their spirits, and mobilize the creative and innate resources critically necessary to achieve success and work effectively for systemic change. Our goal is to help build stronger, more capable leaders and organizations and help develop a larger analysis and vision of social change and environmental sustainability.

Meditation and Contemplative Retreats:

Vallecitos hosts a schedule of meditation and other retreats open to everyone each year, taught by diverse faculty. Unless otherwise noted, beginners and experienced meditators are welcome.
