Nature Conservancy in New Mexico
The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.
The Nature Conservancy in New Mexico has a number of programs that benefit New Mexicans. New Mexico was the first chapter in the Conservancy to set up it's own Climate Change Ecology and Adaptation Program and continues it work on the rivers and streams of New Mexico through it's Living Rivers Program. We work with farmers and ranchers to restore grassland habitat for countless species and to protect time-honored ways of life. Locally and nationally, we advocate for policies that promote the protection of desert borderlands, such as expanding tax credits to donors for voluntary land conservation easements. The next decade is crucial for New Mexico. We still have magnificent landscapes and natural resources that must be protected for future generations. If you share our vision of a thriving New Mexico, with intact lands and living rivers, please join us.
