Mission Statement:
Celebrate fiber art and realize its economic potential.
To accomplish this, we: nurture and empower both novice and skilled fiber artists; enrich the community by fostering opportunities to experience, learn and earn.
Primary Programs:
We operate a fiber art gallery, The Common Thread, located at 107 Broadway, in downtown Silver City, NM. Members may sell their handmade fiber art in the gallery and through various shows in which we participate. We offer classes to the public and teach knitting to women with learning disabilities. We collaborate with women on the border to sell their items as well as with local art organizations to draw visitors into the gallery.
