The mission of the E.A.R.T.H. Center, a broad-based community initiative, is to evolve our way of life on the planet for future generations.

Educational Programs: Presentation of Workshops

The E.A.R.T.H. Center seeks to educate the community on 100% self-sustainable living. The E.A.R.T.H. Center will provide a series of workshops with interrelated curriculum totaling 24 workshop hours as follows:

Workshop SS1: Introduction to Self-Sustainable Living

Description: Overview of the Concept of Self-Sustainable Living

Workshop E1: Introduction to Earthships

Description: This workshop provides an overview and history of earthships

Workshop E2a: Step by Step Methods for Living in an Earthship – Part 1

Description: This workshop provides the “nuts and bolts” of earthships- Utilizing

rainwater collection and recycling, and solar and wind power.

3 hours

Workshop E2b: Step by Step Methods for Living in an Earthship – Part 2

Description: This workshop provides the “nuts and bolts” of earthships- Utilizing

greenhouse agriculture and thermal mass-regulated climate control.

3 hours

Workshop E3: Experiencing Living in an Earthship

Description: Participants will visit earthships in New Mexico to experience firsthand what is involved living in an earthship.

Workshop F1: Sustainable Food Production

Description: This workshop explores how to produce food for a self-sustainable

lifestyle.

Workshop N1: Nutrition and Exercise as Components in Self-Sustainable Living

Description: This workshop discusses how a self-sustainable lifestyle includes a

specific approach to nutrition and exercise.

3 hours

Workshops will be conducted biweekly on a rotating basis, thus allowing ample opportunities for new participants to begin each strand of workshops and also allowing participants to progress through each strand without delays.
