Mission Statement:

The mission of the NMDAC is to provide and advocate for culturally-sensitive professional development for the multidisciplinary health care professional community in order to improve the quality of diabetes prevention and care in New Mexico.

Primary Programs:

Diabetes education, outreach, and advocacy. The NMDAC holds three to four educational trainings each year. These trainings focus on diabetes-related topics and typically average between 100 and 130 physicians, nurses, dieticians, podiatrists, optometrists, promotores, community health representatives, health educators, program administrators, and students. Continuing education credits are offered at the end of each session.
