Mission Statement:

Restoring the Rio Puerco Watershed for present and future generations through outreach, education, and collaborative action.

Primary Programs:

We have several restoration projects on the ground: Targeted Watershed Restoration in Torreon Wash, from EPA; River Ecosystem Restoration Initiative grant from State of New Mexico for Riparian Restoration on Torreon Wash; Restoring Wetlands and Riparian Function in Cebolla Canyon, from State of New Mexico and EPA. In addition, we are working with a Native-American group, Hasbidito to establish their group as a non-profit and to help them set up a community kitchen and economic hub in Ojo Encino.

We also provide staff for the Rio Puerco Management Committee, a legislatively mandated collaborative organization.

Our projects focus on education, land and riparian restoration, and the connection between healthy land and healthy communities in the Rio Puerco Watershed.
