It’s time to say goodbye to NMAG and CNPE … and say hello to Groundworks New Mexico!

We are now Groundworks New Mexico! In 2020 the New Mexico Association of Grantmakers (a 30-year old organization) merged with the Center for Nonprofit Excellence. Our identity has been developed to reflect our core values and ambitions as a single, unified organization that elevates the impact of New Mexico’s social sector. Over the past year, we’ve been working to create an organization that will truly benefit and connect New Mexico’s nonprofit, government, for-profit, and philanthropic sectors.

Our organization provides capacity building services, including a variety of workshops and professional development. We also serve as a strategic partner with philanthropy and nonprofit organizations in collaborative efforts. In recent years, we have served as a backbone support for NM Counts 2020, a Census collaborative and for the New Mexico Broadband Collective, a collaborative committed to ensuring Native and rural communities have access to the Internet.

We believe that long-term positive impact in our state requires everyone from nonprofits and businesses to foundations and government. It also requires connections, collaboration, resource sharing, and a partner that sees the big-picture — and that’s why we’re here. We are a social impact organization that helps those already working to make New Mexico a better place to live, work, and invest in. We increase access to partnerships and resources while removing barriers so that you can focus on your mission.

"Our organization was founded on the idea that by working together we will have a greater impact in our beloved state" - Frank R. Lopez, Executive Director, Groundworks New Mexico.
