Funding for Child Health & Wellness Outcomes

Attend a Wellness Fund Information Session.

The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM) Wellness Fund Grant will be opening soon. To prepare for this grant cycle, CFSNM will be hosting an informational session which will walk grantees through the application and also give the opportunity for a Q & A session. Organizations interested in applying for funding are highly encouraged to attend. Information for the session is as follows:

  • Time: 10 am
  • Place: Mesilla Valley Hospice Conference Room, 299 Montana Ave., Las Cruces, NM

The Wellness Fund Grant supports nonprofit organizations in their efforts to improve maternal and child health and wellness outcomes in southern New Mexico. Non-profit organizations located in Doña Ana, Hidalgo, Otero, Sierra, Grant, Lincoln, and Luna Counties of New Mexico are encouraged to apply for funding.

For purposes of this funding announcement, maternal/child well-being is defined broadly and may include one or more of the following: 

  • Prevention/wellness (physical health, mental health, or emotional health)
  • Education (cognitive, language, social-emotional learning)
  • Direct services 
  • Programs that support maternal/child well-being, including positive relationships between parents/caregivers and children
  • Social determinants of health (the conditions that influence the places where we live, work, and play, such as our environment, housing, food, education, jobs, etc.) 

Eligibility

Proposals are requested from 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations or groups with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor and organized and operated for charitable, educational, or religious purposes. Funding is not provided to individuals.  Applicant organizations must be located in and provide services in Doña Ana, Hidalgo, Otero, Sierra, Grant, Lincoln, or Luna Counties of New Mexico.

Timeline

Important dates in this grant cycle are as follows:

  • Grant cycle opens: 3/12/18
  • Grant due date: 5/31/18
  • Grant review period: 6/4/18 to 6/8/18
  • Grant awarding: 6/18/18 to 6/22/18
