Crossroads for Women Announces the Closing of Hope House

Referrals Suspended Effective Immediately.

Opened in September 2015, Hope House (one of Crossroads for Women’s three therapeutic communities) will suspend its current services effective June 30, 2018. The organization is suspending taking new referrals to Hope House effective immediately.

Like so many local nonprofit organizations, Crossroads is constantly evaluating the financial viability of all of its programs. The current Hope House program in its 11 bed facility was unable to be self-sustaining. Crossroads leadership is in the process of locating a suitable 18 bed facility, and the funding necessary to operate the facility, to re-open Hope House within the next 12-18 months.

The Crossroads for Women Board and Staff want to publicly thank First Congregational United Church of Christ leadership and members for their partnership and support for the current Hope House staff and clients. This partnership exemplifies the best of what a community can, and should be, as we focus on the nearly 5,000 New Mexico women in jails and/or prison.

The mission of Crossroads for Women is to provide comprehensive, integrated services to empower women emerging from incarceration to achieve safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives in the community for themselves and their children.
Breaking Cycles. Building Lives.
