Community Coming Together on July 29 for World Day Against Human Trafficking

World Day Against Trafficking

The City of Albuquerque and The Life Link are proud to announce the New Mexico World Day Against Trafficking in Persons to be held at Albuquerque Civic Plaza on July 29, 2016 from 9am to 1pm.

Joining forces with the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General, the Coalition to STOP Violence against Native Women, Tewa Women United, and One Billion Rising, we are devoting the day to raising awareness about human trafficking. We will be educating the community about available resources, showing solidarity with victims, and campaigning to abolish modern day slavery in New Mexico and around the world.

Speakers for the event include Albuquerque Mayor Richard J. Berry, New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas, and community members working to end human trafficking. Entertainment includes live music and dance, food trucks, and a performance by Graviel De La Plaga.

We are also proud to announce the participation of SOLD: The Human Trafficking Experience. SOLD is a multi-sensory experience that will educate you on the shocking reality of human trafficking, both locally and globally. Participants will be immersed into the lives of victims in nine different parts of the world. SOLD challenges participants to respond to human trafficking with justice, mercy, and humility.
