In partnership with the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, Comcast recently acted as the presenting sponsor in the development of the New Mexico Nonprofit Principles & Practices Guide. CNPE is proud to work with Comcast, whose Internet Essentials program provides affordable internet and low-cost computers to families in need.
The Internet Essentials program is based on the philosophy that "opportunity starts at digital inclusion" — that everyone should be able to access the internet at home. The mission of the seven-year-old program is to "close the Digital Divide" and provide access for all.
Comcast has worked with educational, governmental and nonprofit partners to connect more than 1,500,000 low-income families to the internet. A network of over 2,000 volunteers and over 9,000 nonprofit and educational partners have helped increase the visibility of the program, and Comcast has provided more than $500 million in support of digital literacy training.
Internet Essentials programs support families, housing assistance, veterans, seniors and community college students.
