Advocate Begins Accepting Applications for 2011 Award Recipient

Organization of Advertising and Media Companies to Donate
$1 Million Worth of In-Kind Services to Charity

Advocate, a partnership between New Mexico-based advertising and media companies designed to support not-for-profit organizations based in Albuquerque, announced today that it is officially accepting applications from nonprofits to receive $1 million worth of advertising, marketing and media services donated by the partnering businesses. In its second year of operation, Advocate will select a single not-for-profit organization for 2011 and focus its efforts on a yearlong unified campaign.

“I’m thrilled to announce that the first year of the Advocate program has been a success. We selected Assistance League of Albuquerque as the first recipient of the Advocate award and launched its “Empty Hanger” advertising campaign that is currently running throughout the Albuquerque-metropolitan area,” said Del Esparza, president of Esparza Advertising and founder of Advocate. “Supporting Assistance League’s Operation School Bell® program that provides uniforms to Albuquerque Public School (APS) students, the goal of our ‘Empty Hanger’ campaign is to solicit community support and increase the amount of school children clothed by the program.”

Advocate begins accepting applications today to start the process of selecting next year’s recipient. “We look forward to selecting another Albuquerque-based nonprofit that we can help positively impact society and our community as we have with Assistance League of Albuquerque. The Advocate partners will develop and implement a pro bono campaign to help the selected organization make a difference in the lives of New Mexicans,” said Esparza.

All Albuquerque-based not-for-profit organizations are encouraged to visit Advocate’s web site at www.WeAdvocate.org and submit an application. All applications and additional documentation must be received by Advocate no later than Monday, December 13. Once submitted, the applications will be reviewed by the Advocate partnership. Several applicants may be asked to attend exploratory meetings to further discuss their applications. The 2011 Advocate recipient will be announced in January 2011.

Advocate estimates providing the selected charity or not-for-profit organization with more than $1 million worth of marketing and media-related services including advertising, public relations, print and broadcast advertisements, creative and production services, on-line interactive and mobile strategies, public service announcements, and more.
