Residential Advocate

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Residential Advocates support and guide all youth living in the home. This position will create an environment that is safe, supports young people in increasing protective factors and provides opportunities to develop skills for their future goals.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Casa Q’s Policies and Procedures and CYFD licensing standards.
Transports clients to various appointments, school and activities. Provides behavior interventions, assists youth with conflict resolution, and implements safety and behavior plans.
Plans and leads activities with youth in the community.
Provides life skills training and assists all youth with educational advancement.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree, or currently in pursuit of one, in social work or counseling, or other closely related field. Experience working with LGBTQ youth and at-risk youth, homeless youth or other related populations. Experience or education in youth-centered, strengths-based and trauma-informed care approaches. Demonstrate healthy boundaries at all times, with awareness of personal views and experiences, limitations, agency policy and self-care.
