Medical Coding Intern

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

This is a part-time position (.50 FTE) and is not eligible for benefits.

Working under direct supervision and guidance, the intern will assign appropriate Evaluation and Management (E and M) levels for outpatient office visits following medical record review and assure that documentation by providers conforms to compliance and legal requirements.

Other Information/Requirements: 

High school diploma or GED. Certification in at least one of the following: RHIT, RHIA, RCC, CSS, CCA, CCS-P, COC, CIC, CPC, CPC-P or CPC-A, or must obtain upon successful completion of UNMMG Medical Coding Internship Program. Verification of education and licensure will be required if selected for hire.
