Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Executive Director serves as the organization's chief executive and public representative, providing strategic leadership, overseeing operations, supporting staff, leading fundraising efforts, and partnering with the Board to advance the mission. The role manages a $2.5 million budget and leads a dedicated team working to protect New Mexico's waters and promote environmental justice through community-centered advocacy.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Key responsibilities include advancing strategic priorities, strengthening organizational impact and community engagement, fostering an equitable and collaborative workplace culture, supporting staff development and program coordination, cultivating relationships with donors and stakeholders, representing the organization in public and coalition settings, and ensuring strong financial management, compliance, and accountability.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Preferred qualifications include experience in nonprofit leadership, staff supervision, fundraising, grant development, and budget management. Candidates should possess strong communication and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging diverse communities and stakeholders. A commitment to environmental justice and cultural competency is essential. Knowledge of environmental, water, conservation, or public policy issues, especially in New Mexico, is highly desirable.
