Main Areas of Responsibility: 

We seek a dynamic Communications Director to plan and execute multi-faceted campaigns that promote NMCLP’s vision, values, and goals for advancing economic justice in partnership with our communities. Leading the Communications team, the director will develop key messaging, cultivate media relations, and oversee the creation of digital and printed materials. This role will work collaboratively with executive leadership and staff to ensure consistent and impactful communications efforts.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

This position will forge connections with community partners, assist in outreach efforts and participate in coalition and network building to advance NMCLP’s education and advocacy goals. This position will also include preparing staff for media appearances, interviews, and presentations, and supporting community members, including lawsuit plaintiffs, with amplifying their voices and sharing their own stories publicly.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Required: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; exceptional writing and speaking skills; ability to transform complex issues into engaging and relevant messages; and deep commitment to economic and racial justice. Preferred: 5+ years of experience in a communications field; proficiency in Spanish; familiarity with working/living in New Mexico’s low-income communities; experience with policy campaigns and lobbying.
