Main Areas of Responsibility: 

This role oversees financial planning and reporting, budgeting, grants management, audit coordination, and internal controls. The CFO collaborates closely with program, development leaders, the CEO, and Board of Directors to align financial strategy with mission impact, ensuring Catholic Charities' long-term sustainability and transparency.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Lead organizational financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and analysis while advising the CEO, executive team, and Board. Oversee accounting, audits, compliance, budgeting, and grant management. Manage cash flow, investments, and financial sustainability. Supervise and develop the finance team, serve as liaison to Board finance committees, and champion transparent, mission- and equity-centered financial practices.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA preferred. 7–10 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including at least 3 years in nonprofit financial leadership. Experience managing $5M+ budgets, multiple funding sources, and federal/state grants; overseeing audits; and leading a 3–6 person team. Advanced Excel skills, nonprofit accounting systems experience, valid NM driver’s license, and ability to pass a background check required.
