Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:

Support Programs for the Deaf: Awards are generally made in the field of deafness to support schools, programs, and teacher training programs and other professional training programs that use the Auditory Oral Method for teaching deaf children to listen and talk. Our grants are intended to increase program capacity, improve quality and operational effectiveness, inspire innovative service delivery and strengthen the infrastructure of organizations so that all of these children and families receive quality services in listening and spoken language as early as possible.

Notes: New Mexico funding has primarily gone to Presbyterian Ear Institute.
