Mission/Giving Statement: Together, Intel and the Intel Foundation foster educational opportunities and quality of life improvements for communities in which they have a major presence. By developing programs, exercising leadership, and providing funding for grants, Intel: Fuels innovation in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); Empowers girls and women; Inspires underserved youth; Engages with our communities. Through these efforts Intel works to increase opportunities for all—especially girls and underrepresented populations—in STEM education and related careers.

Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Education:  This is the Intel Foundation's primary giving focus. Intel has a strong interest in supporting K–12, higher education and community programs that deliver the kind of educational opportunities that all students will need to prepare themselves to succeed in the 21st century. Intel vigorously supports education through grants for programs that advance STEM, particularly for women and underserved populations.

Transforming the Lives of Women & Girls: Intel supports programs that elevate women and girls’ status through education, tech use, and entrepreneurial skills.

Additional Programs: Intel will support additional programs that improve the quality of life in its site communities. These requests will be evaluated on the basis of the services offered and the program's: Impact on the community; Its focus on diversity and multiculturalism; Its impact on the youth of our community; The cost-effectiveness of the program; and Its ability to be effectively measured and replicated; and The potential for Intel employee involvement.

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions: Intel sites typically will not fund: Programs outside the site community; Endowment or capital-improvement campaigns; Unrestricted gifts to national or international organizations; Sectarian or denominational religious organizations; Foundations that are strictly grant-making bodies; Private schools; Organizations that practice discrimination; Sporting events or teams; Health care organizations; Arts organizations; Special occasion goodwill advertising; Fundraising activities or events; Individuals, travel or tours; School extra-curricular activities/clubs; General operating expenses; or Debt-retirement for organizations.
