Are you about to start a new project or already have a few on your plate? Join us to learn about the essential elements needed in order for your project to be successful. 

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the key elements of project management
  • ​Determine the scope, stakeholders and timeline for a current project

Description

During this workshop you'll learn about 3 elements of project management: (1) scope; (2) stakeholders; and (3) timeline. The workshop will focus on preparing for the early stages of project management and includes ample time for you to apply what you learn to your own project. You’ll walk away with easy-to-use templates and a better understanding of how to keep your team and project on track.

You will get the most out of this workshop by doing three things:

  1. Determine a specific project that you will focus on during this workshop.
  2. Attend the workshop with at least one other person from your project team.
  3. Bring a laptop to work electonically on the templates provided.

Presenters

Roberta Garcia is a Special Projects Manager for the Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNPE). She is utilizing her more than 30 years of corporate experience as a Human Resources professional from Intel Corporation by supporting CNPE's robust initiatives. Roberta has a vast understanding of process-driven management philosophy and project management techniques. Roberta is a Lean Six Sigma certified Green Belt applying lean methodologies to CNPE's systems and operating procedures.

Kira Luna is the Education Manger at the Center for Nonprofit Excellence. She oversees the wide variety of trainings offered throughout the year, and connects the New Mexico nonprofit community to information and resources.
