Results Based Accountability Overview

Results Based Accountability (RBA) is a disciplined way of thinking and taking action developed by Mark Friedman, author of Trying Hard Is Not Good Enough.  Organizations have used it to improve the performance of their programs.  Results Based Accountability starts with the end goals and works backward, step by step toward the means.  This workshop will provide an introduction to the concepts and language of RBA.

Learning Objectives
- Understand the difference between the two kinds of accountability: population and performance
- Understand the three performance measures: How much did we do? How well did we do it? Is anyone better off?
- Introduction to baselines and Turning the Curve using the 7 Questions

Presenter
Giovanna Rossi holds a Master of Science degree in Public Policy and Public Administration from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico. She is the president of Collective Action Strategies, LLC, a consulting firm focused on working with public and private sector agencies and groups to improve the health and lives of women and families through project management, strategic planning, policy development, social marketing, and training. After training with Mark Friedman, she received a certificate in Results Based Accountability (RBA) and has trained hundreds of people in RBA since.
She has also received a certificate in social marketing from the Social Marketing in Public Health Training Academy, and a certificate in Social Determinants of Health from the International Institute for Society and Health at the University of London. Giovanna is host of Well Woman Radio on the NPR affiliate KUNM 89.9fm.
